The challenge
Airbnb’s landing page had fallen to the second page of Google search results in Google, which led to a significant dip in traffic. I was asked to create a page template that supported unique content, inventory, and the targeted keywords. All while optimizing for page speed.
The solution
Build a story around the search query. The template organized inventory in relevant groupings, leveraged user-generated content (UGC) from locals about neighborhoods and points of interest, and editorial content to address travelers’ general concerns. With this template, Airbnb once again rose to the top of search results for targeted queries.
